Photographer Michael Patacsil was born and raised in San Diego, California and currently resides in Portland, Oregon.

He values family and community, choosing to focus on them in his daily news coverage and personal work. Michael has trained with photographer Melissa Golden, helping to produce content for the Wall Street Journal and other publications. In his spare time, he makes large batches of his grandfather’s chicken adobo for family, friends and colleagues and volunteers with TACSC, a nonprofit that teaches leadership skills to children and teenagers. His work has been recognized by College Photographer of the Year and the National Press Photographers Association student contests and was an attendee of Eddie Adams Workshop XXXIII in October 2020.

Michael Patacsil has work published in The Arizona Republic, the Wilmington StarNews, Northern Arizona’s Mountain Living Magazine, The Lumberjack and the Arizona Daily Wildcat.
